FAQ's
WHAT TYPE OF THERAPY DO YOU OFFER?
I hold a special focus on marriages and couples with extensive training in relationship counseling, and am trained through Level Three of Gottman marriage therapy, considered the gold-standard in researched and effective relationship counseling.

While my practice is often directive and discussion-based, I often utilize a mix of Socratic questioning and more structured techniques.
DO YOU OFFER FREE CONSULTATIONS?
I understand that getting started with this kind of work can be overwhelming, and a bit nerve-wracking, so brief, 15-minute phone consultations are available for new clients, as scheduling allows. The aim of these calls is to determine, for both of us, the best fit for your needs.

CAN I REACH YOU BY PHONE?
To keep client fees lower, Still Space Therapy does not provide a telephone receptionist. Existing clients are able to connect with Emily through email and the online portal messaging feature. Prospective clients may book a free 15-minute consultation as noted above.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
Insurance is not accepted, by design - insurance practices around mental health can be incredibly limiting to both clients seeking services, and providers offering them. Superbills (receipts) are available to clients wishing to utilize Out Of Network benefits through their insurance plan. If you have questions or concerns about this practice, please contact your insurance company first, and specifically inquire about superbill coverage for Associate Therapists.

WHAT’S THE COST PER SESSION?
The standard rate for 50-minute individual therapy is $135. 80-minute sessions are available for couples and are billed at $195.

A limited number of spots are available for couples needing a reduced rate, at request, and determined on a case-by-case basis (subsidized rate of $145 for 80-minute sessions).
